Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson is a long book.
Sarah bought it for me for Christmas and it looks so daunting right now; 1183 pages.

“The value is that they give you discipline and they give you collective worship...”
– Paul Coelho, author of The Alchemist, answer the question: You mentioned that you’re Catholic, but you’ve said elsewhere that your Jesuit upbringing was painful in some ways. What do you see as the value of, and problems with, organized religion?

Y'all should follow this girl:
http://sarahsanne.tumblr.com/ She’s a pretty cool girl. I’m pretty fond of her. And she blogs stuff like me, but nerdier. It’s like my blog with a vagina.

Anonymous asked: Actually, it's just plain old introduction to statistics. Heh.

Anonymous asked: You don't even need to dismiss the mechanisms that astrology uses. Just looking at the data and applying some statistics you could tell that a result of 203 for Aries is within two standard deviations (20) of the mean (165.5). 203 isn't even an unusual result, statistically speaking.

Astronomical Horoscopes →
A sample:  Seriously Arians, stop putting pressure on these guys to control your life for you. They’ve got they’re own orbits to take care of. Especially Europa on the far left; it’s trying to raise its own little life forms and you keep coming to it with your problems. Lay off.

More On the Anti-Vax Ad Running in Times Square,... →
jtotheizzoe: First, read this. Then sign the petition.  Then, if tweet @DisneyChannelPR and tell them to pull this ad from their 5,000 square foot screen in Times Square, where millions of people will see it. Use the hashtag #ABCsSickNYE. If you need irony to fuel your anger, Jenny McCarthy will be co-hosting ABC’s NYE coverage. Help prevent potentially millions of people from being fed...

inothernews: Yay for science. Simon Cowell’s claim that an intravenous cocktail of Vitamins C, B12 and magnesium helps him feel younger and healthier gets voted down by Science About Sense’s panel of judges. Gisele Bundchen’s statement that sunscreen is synthetic poison gets burned by a pharmaceutical scientist.
